Hyperbloom

Hyperloop Desert Campus Competition

Situated in the Mojave Desert outside of Las Vegas, the Hyperbloom seeks to become a test center that also serves as the model for future working environment and urban growth. Its design and construction takes into consideration of the complete life cycle of materials and how the center could transform after the hyperloop technology has matured. Hyperbloom provides an alternative template for urban settlement, and ultimately provides a narrative that technology properly utilized will bring humanity to its next course of evolution.

Inspired by traditional Arabian architecture, the wind towers are oriented towards the prevailing winds to draw in air from the louvered top and brought down to the water surface at the base to be cooled down and distributed at the ground level. The towers also serve as structural support for the operable canopies. The canopies consist of robust yet flexible PTFE tensile membranes that can withstand scorching temperatures.
